Description:
White thyme essential oil has a 40-50% thymol content and a lesser amount of carvacrol, borneol and linalool. It also contains tannins, which have an anti-viral effect, and flavonoids and saponins with antibiotic properties.
The anti-microbial action comes mainly from the thymol and carvacrol content and this essential oil belongs to the group of phenols.
In beauty treatments it is used for acne-prone skin and general skin irritations. It can also be used in oil diffusers to freshen and perfume the air.
