Petitgrain essential oil has a rebalancing effect on the nervous system and as such it can be used as a headache remedy to relax and refresh the mind. It is a good relaxant and can help treat nervous tension and irritability, anxiety-induced palpitations and insomnia.
Its digestive properties make it an excellent remedy for digestive complaints and it stimulates gastric secretion in those suffering from indigestion.
It acts as a deodorant and, as with all essential oils, is anti-bacterial and anti-sceptic. If diluted in almond oil it cleanses the skin of bacteria that can cause unpleasant smells. It is recommended for acne, excessive sweating, greasy hair, and problem skin.
